Benefits of GRP Products

Glass-reinforced plastic offers endless possibilities for the residential, commercial, industrial and governmental markets. High quality surface finish, low weight, high strength, inherent durability and resistance to corrosion are only some of the benefits to our GRP products.

Long Term Cost Savings

GRP products have a lifespan of 50 years and offer the opportunity to significantly reduce or eliminate life cycle costs. They require very little or no maintenance as they do not rust or rot, and over their life cycle require no replacing, repainting, or repairing.

Strong and Durable

GRP products provide a high strength to weight ratio and high flexural strength, this means it is a lightweight material that is also super strong. As a rule, for a similar strength, GRP will weigh half the weight of aluminum and a seventh of steel.

In general our GRP products can be up to 80% lighter than steel, minimising the risks involved with manual handling and in return reduce installation costs

GRP also has high resistance to:

  • ultraviolet light
  • extreme temperatures
  • salt air
  • chemicals including most acids

In harsh environments, GRP is a better choice over metal, wood, or plastic.

Appearance

Our GRP products are gel-coated in their moulds with a choice of flat, semi-gloss or high gloss colour eliminating the need for painting. GRP products can be manufactured in numerous finishes, textures, and colours, so various surface appearances can also be achieved in the mould, but if the required colour can not be achieved in the mould then the component can be spray painted from a huge choice of standard, metallic , or colour’s.
